Have you seen or do you suspect illegal or unethical conduct? Do you feel you need to alert the Fund anonymously? Read these FAQs for more information on when you should submit a whistleblowing report and what will happen after you have blown the whistle.
The whistle blowing platform is called ‘Ethics Helpdesk’. It is a web-based application that provides a platform for all employees, members and third parties to report any illegal or unethical conduct they encounter related to GIPF.
Whistleblowing is important for fostering high ethical standards and maintaining member and public confidence in the GIPF and its operations. By blowing the whistle, you can contribute to preventing escalation of illegal and unethical activities.
The Ethics Helpdesk is an independent service provider that offers secure and anonymous reporting. No telephone/mobile number or email address is required. The service is separate from GIPF’s IS environment and does not track IP addresses or other data that could identify a whistleblower.
The Ethics Helpdesk offers the following options to blow the whistle:
- completing an online form;
- submitting a report via an anonymous WhatsApp line;
- submitting a report via an anonymous Telegram line;
- speaking to an artificial intelligence robot; or
- speaking to an agent (an actual person).
Through the Ethics Helpdesk, a whistle blower will also be able to receive periodic updates on the progress of the report made by using a unique reference number.
To enable a thorough investigation, you should provide a detailed description, including what has happened, when and where it happened and who was involved. You should ideally attach relevant documents, pictures, videos or recordings that support your allegations. You are not required to prove your allegations, however your report should always be submitted in good faith.
After you have made a report, you will be provided with a unique reference number which you can use to submit additional information and receive feedback. GIPF is required to provide feedback on your report within 45 days.
